Food, Calories and Nutrition calculator

1. How does the food calculator work?
  Simply multiply the number of servings by the number of calories; grams of protein, carbohydrates, fat and fiber and milligrams of sodium contains in the food item you select.
  First, multiply the number of grams of macronutrients by the number of calories each gram contains. The multipliers are 4[protein], 9[fat] and 4[carbohydrates]. This calculator does not keep track of alcohol content.
2. What is the source of the food data?
  We have three types of sources:
  Websites:
  A. United Stated Department of Agriculture Nutrient Database for Standard Reference,     Release 17
  B. Data for our Indian Cuisine food list is provided by FatFreeKitchen .com
  Product labels
  Data was taken from company websites displaying product labels, brand identification, following the name of the food.
  Other sources
  The identification of the source comes in square brackets following the name of the food.
3. How can I find data for missing food items?
  Before you e-mail us with your queries, do check the list given below to know whether you are looking at the right food list
A. Groceries: Fruits, vegetables, meat etc
  B. Fast-food: Star bucks, McDonald's, KFC
  C. Brands: Frito Lay, Slim Fast
  D. Vegetarian brands: Garden burger, White wave
