2. Do I have to count calories forever?
No. you don't have to count the calories if you are sure that you are eating healthy and are confident of not putting on weight. Any health conscious person will like to update himself with the quantity and quality of the food he takes in. That's why calorie counting becomes a habit for them. It helps them keep check of the diet programs they undergo and provides valuable clues on whether it is working out or not for them.
Besides, everyday you are not going to survive on the same food. You would experiment, try out new foodstuffs, eat extra packs of biscuits a day or would take an ice cream more. So, you won't be able to keep a check on you weight. And this where calories help. Don't let this routine leave you, even after you are over with a diet plan.
3. Are Diet pills a solution to my weight problem?
A diet pill suppresses the appetite, blocks absorption of dietary fat, and raises your body metabolism. Pills are an effective way of losing extra kilos from the body. Some pills work, some pills don't and some others prove dangerous.
People who suffer from obesity dream of a magic pill, which will work wonders for them. They still eat unhealthy, ignore a disciplined life and end up taking the pill, which will have little effect on the body. Weight related disease occur not only because of obesity but also due to their unhealthy ways of eating.
With a proper diet plan and good eating habits, diet pills might just work for you. So, follow the right path to a perfect weight loss:

  • Follow a healthy calorie controlled diet
  • Opt for slow steady weight loss. It always works.
  • Balance it with a small exercise program
  • Be positive and determined to lose weight
  • Don't skip meals. Try and stick to regular meals
  • Eat the most filling and less fattening meals every day
4. Is surgery a solution to my weight problem?
The surgery undergone to treat obesity is called Bariatric surgery. It is the extreme measure adopted to treat excess weight in your body. But you shouldn't opt for a surgery as the first step towards weight loss. It is wise to try out various diet programs, diet pills, physical exercises before you make it to a surgery. The best solution is to have healthy foods all the time. And also in limited quantities.
A surgery can only limit what you can eat or the kinds of food you can take. It is similar to dieting. So if you need a surgery because you ate too much and want to shed it all, you can. If you enjoy eating and planning to do that even after surgery, then it is not advisable.
The success of such surgery depends on your ability to adapt to a healthy lifestyle by making nutrients- rich food and exercise a part of your life.
People who resort to surgery are those who cannot follow any diet programs due to threatening medical conditions. Some medical conditions include:

  • Type 2 diabetes
  • Hypertension
  • Arthritis
  • High cholesterolt
  • Sleep apnea
  The most common surgery is:
The Gastric Bypass surgery
This surgery makes the stomach smaller and allows food to bypass part of the small intestine. You feel full quickly. Your food intake comes down and the calories you consume will go down. And this leads to weight loss. The most common Gastric surgery is Roux-en-Y gastric bypass. In this, the stomach is made smaller by making a small pouch at the top of the stomach with a plastic band. This stomach is directly connected to the middle portion of the small intestine, bypassing the rest of the stomach and the upper portion of the small intestine. A large incision is made in the abdomen or a small incision is made using small instruments and a camera to guide the surgery [laproscopic approach].
  Liposuction
The most popular form of cosmetic surgery, liposuction helps remove fat from stubborn areas of the body that does not respond to other traditional ways of weight loss. It is not safe for treating obesity as little weight can be taken out with this surgery. It is not an effective treatment for cellulite because it does not change the appearance of the skin.
So, surgery is a solution to people who have weight problems with annoying medical conditions.
5. Can Hypnosis make me lose weight?
Hypnosis appears to be one of the most appealing methods dangling before the eyes for those who want to find an easy solution to a complex problem. It works on a subconscious level adapting the body to face the new challenges in life. Hypnosis cannot physiologically stop obesity but it can actually prepare the body to be more focused, determined and ready to fight over weight. It can calm the body, help the body regularize with certain food patterns and follow diets which otherwise was difficult to follow.
In simple terms, it is a guide in our weight loss diet methods. For any weight loss treatment to be effective, you need to have a healthy diet. If you are determined, enough to exercise regularly half your battle is won. Hypnosis helps you with this by helping your body concentrate and adapt to such routines. It helps to get in touch with our subconscious and utilize our ability to solve problems.
It is also important to meet up with a qualified mental health professional. Today, we also get self-hypnosis CD's entitled Enjoying Weight Loss by Dr. Roberta Temes. It provides relaxing sessions, which is of good use.
