Stay Active to
Control Weight Loss
April 26, 2005
Saulk Centre- Recently a Health
Awareness Challenge took place which aimed
at generating awareness and help people understand the
ways to control Weight Gain.
The programme came out as a success with some people
losing more than 50 pounds during the 12-week competition.
The outlook of the programme was to control the weight
gain process and not to look at losing it.
The lifestyle of the community tends to put in stress
and leads to inappropriate eating habits. However, it
is not truly the eating habits that define the rate
of weight loss; the prime reason is the inactivity.
According to the study, inactivity is the root of several
health problems. The solution to weight loss is not
just dieting, but a simple reduction in calorie intake
and an increase in activity.
Having access to professional chefs, personal trainers
or medical dieticians is not the answer, as some people
feel and work with. The only challenge is to identify
and relate to personal goals. The end solution lies
in working towards your individual goals and to take
up an active approach to weight control & not towards
weight loss.
