Pills for the treatment of hypertension and cholesterol
have been unified in a single tablet. Physicians therefore
will be able to prescribe this new drug for patients
having h hypertension and high cholesterol. The drug
that has been in use for one year in the US has enriched
the daily lives of patients.
At the forefront of recent discussion at the Cardiovascular
Congress organized by the Pfizer doctors signified that
it is possible for only a single drug to cure a chronic
illness and more drugs tend to make the patient fed
up with the cure. Explaining that effective essences/substances
of the drug used for two distinct illnesses have been
unified in one drug, Professor Dr. Sanford Schwartz
from the University of Pennsylvania disclosed that there
is a tendency towards single drug use among patients
under intensive care in Europe and the US. Stressing
that the patient reacts more positively to treatment
in this way, Professor Schwartz pointed out that hypertension
and cholesterol make the patient's life more difficult
and can even prove fatal. Professor Schwartz also warned
that in order to be protected from hypertension and
cholesterol that causes arteriosclerosis, which four
times more common in men than women and especially after
the age 40, recommends people should avoid smoking,
alcohol and stress. The Professor concludes that the
level of blood cholesterol could be reduced to normal
levels by diet or drug treatment.
