A New Obesity Center for Orlando
November 29, 2005
A large children's health system known by the name of Nemours announced their plans for the opening of an obesity center in Orlando to deal with the rising problem of childhood obesity. The new obesity center, which should open next summer inside Nemours' planned new clinic to be built near the Mall at Millenia, will work to manage and prevent obesity.
Dr. Reinaldo Figueroa of Nemours in the Orlando division of gastroenterology and nutrition will lead the center's multidisciplinary team, which will include a pediatrician trained in gastroenterology and nutrition, a dietitian, exercise physiologist/physical therapists, psychologists and a social worker. It will help to curtail the increasing number of obese children.
