Rehydration, a must
After a Tiring Workout
Sep 04, 2005
Rehydrating the body after a workout is a must to stave
off dehydration. W. Larry Kenney, a professor of Physiology
and Kinesiology at Pennsylvania State University informs
that some people lose 3 percent of their body weight
or more in a strenuous workout due to dehydration.
Perspiration rates range widely and according to Kenney,
very heavy sweaters have the tendency to lose up to
10 pounds in a strenuous, one-hour workout due to excessive
sweating. He recommends that people should weigh themselves
before and after workouts to plan post-exercise rehydration.
